While Lebainu is based in the US, it was created for every girl worldwide! Most of our programs are virtual so you can utilize them from any country you reside in! Of course, there may be times when your time zone or location is not accommodated for live events or teleconferences but we do the best we can to make things work for everyone. At this time, we do not send packages out of the US.
At Lebainu, confidentiality is our top priority for our members. Your information will not be accessible to anyone and is securely stored. But we understand and acknowledge the immense, damaging stigma toward those with mental illness which still exists in the community. You can use a fake name and we would have no way to know. However, we applaud the bravery of anyone willing to contact us with their real name. It shows true courage and trust.
Lebainu is strictly for girls with mental health challenges. However, there are plenty of ways to get involved! Contact us at office@lebainu.org to learn about volunteer positions!
No. Lebainu Support, Inc. is not an organization that intends to diagnose, treat, or cure any mental illness. We do not provide funding or medical treatment to anybody, only emotional and peer support and non-monetary resources on a non-clinical level.
You are certainly not obligated to join Lebainu! However, anyone with mental illness is welcome. There are always ups and downs with mental illness, and everyone deserves support, even when they are not in a state of crisis.
Of course you can! You know yourself best and we trust you to know if you are struggling with a mental illness. Sometimes, the path to reaching out for help and getting a diagnosis is daunting. Meanwhile, we hope our program will help you know that you are never alone. We would be happy to have you.
Certainly! Lebainu is nothing like an IOP. It is a casual peer support program. We provide no medical care, therapy, or medical advice to any of our members.
Joining is completely free! Lebainu is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in New York State. The organization functions solely on the generous contributions we receive from donors. Ways you can give back as a member include spreading the word about our organization to friends who can benefit, donating to our program, being an ambassador for us during our yearly crowdfunding campaign, and mentioning the organization to anyone you know who may be looking to donate to such an organization, which is essential to our continuity.
Severe chronic pain should not be considered psychological just because your doctor cannot find the cause. Rather, we advise you to find a new doctor who can help discover the cause of your pain. The organization MyTEAM would be a better fit for your needs. MyTEAM supports those with chronic medical conditions, even those that have not yet been diagnosed.
There is a fantastic organization called Uplift that can support you. Uplift is for girls and young women who have experienced abuse from an unhealthy parent. Please reach out to them at info@upliftteam.org.
We appreciate you considering supporting our girls! Lebainu is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit which functions solely on donations. Please see our donate page for the many easy and quick ways you can contribute to our cause.
Lebainu is an organization for teens and young women who are 14-25 years of age. Since your daughter is not 14 yet, she cannot join our program. However, please feel free to reach out to us whenever she turns 14!
Most of the content which Lebainu distributes is only accessible to Lebainu members. Please do not share content with anyone who is not part of our program. If your friend or sister can benefit from our content, please let her know to reach out and sign up.
Lebainu is an organization for teens and young women who are 14-25 years of age. Since you are older than 25, you cannot join our program. However, there is an amazing organization called Chazkeinu that provides emotional and peer support for women 18-120 who have mental health challenges. You can reach out to them and join.
Lebainu was created for the sole purpose of bridging the gap for teens before they can join Chazkeinu. However, the age was extended past 14-18 to provide a supportive space for those who are 18+ but still single and feel unable to relate to or partake in some of Chazkeinu’s programming, which can be geared more toward wives and mothers. Please note: Lebainu has no legal affiliation with Chazkeinu.
Unfortunately, we do not.
At this time we have not heard of any similar organizations for boys or men of any age.
Not at all! Applicants just need to fill out a short questionnaire and sign a small form.
Nobody but the directors would know you have joined our program. However, if you send submissions in for our Heartbeats magazine, which only members receive, they may see your first name and last initial on the byline. You may request we use a pseudonym for Heartbeats submissions. If you share on our teleconference, someone may recognize your voice. If you sign up to get a mentor or partner via Lebainu, that mentor or partner will receive your name. Additionally, if you come to our live events, other members will probably see you there. Besides that, you should be safe.
That is so kind of you to think of your friend! One way is to send her a link to this website, Lebainu.org. Another way is to share that you heard about this organization, and the email address to get more information is info@lebainu.org. You can also share our phone number with her. It is 845-652-3986.
That is not a problem! Once you sign up to Lebainu as a whole, you can utilize as many or as little of our programs as you want. You can also unsubscribe at any given time.
Lebainu is here for you to meet your needs and ensure that you can benefit from our programs. Our packages do not say “Lebainu Support” as the return address. We use a pseudonym. If you still feel uncomfortable, which we truly understand, you can ask a friend or extended family member to use their address and we will send it there for you. If you still don’t feel comfortable, you can of course opt out of getting packages until you are ready.
While we strongly encourage our members to see a therapist, it is okay if you are not doing so right now for whatever reason. You can still join.
Every single member will age out of Lebainu eventually. At that time, you will be graduated from our program and no longer be eligible to receive the majority of our content and programs. You will receive an email notifying you of this change. We will be sad to see you go, but there are plenty of ways you can stay involved in Lebainu such as volunteering for us or becoming a mentor.
No worries! Lebainu offers full accessibility to our programs for girls who do not have access to email or a computer at home. Intake can be done via regular mail. Teleconferences take place over the phone and not on zoom. If you don’t have access to email at all, you can request to get the Heartbeats magazine mailed to you. Additionally, all our previous speakers, songs, personal stories, Heartbeats submissions, and periodic updates about our programs are available on our exclusive Lebainu phone hotline.
